Meet Dr. Richard Lai, DDS

Dr. Lai is a general dentist at Oasis Dental Centre in Scarborough, where he is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered dental care. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University in 2008 and brings over 18 years of experience in clinical dentistry.

Dr. Lai provides general and family dentistry with a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and creating positive, comfortable patient experiences. He is known for his calm and empathetic approach, especially when working with patients who experience dental anxiety. Dr. Lai believes that great dentistry begins with listening to patients and ensuring they feel informed, relaxed, and confident in their care.

His professional insights have been featured in Dentistry Today. Dr. Lai is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), and he regularly pursues continuing education in cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery to stay current with evolving techniques and technology.

Outside of the office, Dr. Lai enjoys hockey, baseball, basketball, anime and puzzles, as well as traveling and spending time with his family.

Currently, we’re open Monday through Thursday. However, we’re happy to accommodate Saturday appointments by request for patients who cannot visit during the week.
